SERVPRO of Silver Lake / Echo Park

Excellent work! My interior garage was left a horrible mess from debris that had fallen down between the rafters when I had a new roof installed. The old pebble style roof was original to my 1954 house and I was worried the fallen debris might have asbestos in it. I called ServePro Silver Lake because I needed licensed, qualified professionals to inspect the site and provide a legitimate environmental report. Fortunately for me, there was no asbestos found and we could safely proceed with the clean up. This project was absolutely daunting because, like so many others, I use my garage to store furniture, boxes of books and photos, and plastic containers that cover every square inch of my two-car garage! Rafael headed up the 3-person crew assigned to tackle this huge project and they did an amazing job! Every piece of furniture, artwork, and item packed within each box and container was vacuumed and wiped down with cleaning solution to return them to their original condition. Rafael even made sure no debris remained within the eaves or lay hidden beneath shelving units. It took several 8 hour days to completely remove the debris. Understand that some of it was pebble-like but a lot was a fine, black dust that got into any crevice it possibly could! Once the mess was cleaned up, Rafael and the crew took time to put everything back exactly where I wanted. My garage is now perfectly clean and it’s organized! I can’t thank them enough for their incredible hard work! I highly recommend ServePro Silver Lake to do the job and do it right! And that’s a helluva lot more than I can say about the roofers who neglected to prepare the area before they created and left such a mess for me to deal with!

I’m not one to write bad reviews, but I feel the need to share my experience with other wild fire affected people. Pros: The quality of the cleaning was alright. They were receptive to feedback and would re-clean items if they were not what I was hoping for. Cons: Unfortunately the organization and communication of this particular company needs much improvement. There were many ‘promises’ made and false deadlines. I am very understanding of how overworked they are, but if I were communicated with the expected deadline based on their workload, I would have been understanding. My biggest complaint, is that they claim to throw out a few of my items because they were so dirty that they were ‘dangerous’. I have a hard time believing this, when the said items were in a room with minimal ash. And my shoes that were outside during the fires were returned. However, even if that’s the case, even if I didn’t realize how dirty these items were, I should have been contacted before throwing out my items.

Ozzy is the man! He came in our house after my daughter overflowed our bathtub and it leaked to the downstairs. Terrible damage. It literally set our life upside down. Ozzy came in with a great crew who was polite and very clean. They laid down their own high grade plastic on the floor so they didn’t track through our house. He gave me constant updates and they were able to handle the mold remediation within a week. It was much faster than I had anticipated. Even when I had some potential concerns after the fact, he came out to my house for free just to check it out to make sure everything was still OK. If you’re dealing with mold remediation, you know it’s one of the biggest headaches to go through with a family of small children. But the people at Service pro made it a walk in the park. I highly recommend them.
