While insurance took a long time to process, Jessica kept us updated and stayed in constant communication, which we really appreciated. Robin went above and beyond, working around the specific needs of my project and guiding me on the best steps to get the property restored ASAP. Many thanks to Austin Fire & Flood and especially their GC Doug Kurtz for rebuilding our home better than we ever imagined it could be. We had a soot fire that damaged the whole interior of our home. We were distraught, as you might imagine. As soon as we contacted AFF, we knew we were in good hands. Alex, Jessica, Doug and the owner Robin took care of us through the whole process, which was lengthy and at times difficult. The interior was taken down the studs, our contents were catalogued, and anything recoverable was cleaned and stored. They communicated with us regularly, worked with our insurance company to help us get the best coverage from our claim, and helped us with every detail. Now that we’re back in our home, we’re thrilled with the quality job they did for us. Doug Kurtz went above and beyond to get everything done right, Jessica did a great job giving us status reports and keeping us organized, Alex was very knowledgeable and reliable, and Robin made sure everything was finished to the highest standards. We will be forever grateful to them for an outstanding job.

The AFF team’s transparency, communication, patience, etc. has been A+. My wife and I both feel SO much better about moving back into our house with confidence we won’t be breathing in mold and won’t have to worry about water getting in every time it rains. I’m certain we would not feel the same if we went with another option. Also want to shoutout that our contractor, Doug, and his team have single-handedly put our faith back in contractors. He has been amazing at communication. I feel like any point I know where the project stands and what items are still open or where he needs our input. It’s wildly impressive that with all he’s balancing, I can call and bug him any day or hour and Doug knows exactly what’s going on and what’s next up to do. His ideas and creative problem solving has shown us the value in having a true pro handle this kind of work and we could not recommend him any more. I’m sure I have been difficult at times because we’re working with some very tight timelines due to external factors, but he’s been on top of everything. Also throughout the process, we’ve felt like he’s had our best interests (and wallet!) in mind, which I can only imagine is pretty rare in the world of insurance and construction. My wife and I have felt - for lack of a better word - cheated by many folks in this process (original builder, inspector, insurance, etc.), but Doug and your team have been a bright spot in the midst of it all.
